经过四天的紧张工作，2006年中高级口译考试的阅卷工作已经结束。从试题来看，难度并没有提高，而考生们的总体答题情况却不如阅卷老师们的预期的好，特别是翻译部分。

　　翻译组的阅卷老师们在这次阅卷过程中一直讨论着一个问题——同学们的翻译问题处于写作问题，而写作问题植根于语法问题。翻译中的一个普遍现象是，句子结构不完整、不通顺、不正确，而句子中却很不自然的夹着许多不太常用而看似十分华丽的单词，也就是同学们通常说的“高级词汇”。

　　拿中口的汉译英来说，这次中口汉译英的试题选取的是******主席在耶鲁大学讲话中的一段。段落的第一句话就是一个长句。第一段分值为25，而这个长句就占了15分。

　　原句为：进入耶鲁大学的校园，看到莘莘学子青春洋溢的脸庞，呼吸着书香浓郁的空气，我不由会想起40年前在北京清华大学度过的美好时光。

　　(这句话的标准答案) Coming to the campus of Yale, which is permeated with its distinctive academic atmosphere, and seeing so many young students who brim with high spirits, I cannot help recalling my great experience / good / happy days studying at Tsinghua University in Beijing 40 years ago.

　　老师们在阅卷时，所关注的并不是同学们是否写出 be permeated with 或是 brim with，而是同学们所用的句型是否正确。在阅卷过程中，多次看到同学们这样写：“Coming to …, it reminded me of my days…”; “The campus of … recall my days…”, 还有一些答案由明显的歧义，如“I still remember the days when I came to the campus of …”，“When I came to …, seeing…, smelling…, they all recall me …”还有相当一些考生只用逗号连接英语句子，如“Many student come in …, the books smell, I think of …”。可以说诸如此类的句子称不上是英语，只能说在用英语单词写汉语。而对于这样的句子，老师的给分都不会超过及格分，无论句子里使用了什么样的单词。而很让阅卷老师诧异的是，恰恰是这样的句子中经常出现如“aroma; fragrance; vitality”之类的单词。我们边阅卷边不禁感叹，怎么会使用这样单词的同学犯如此基本的语法错误呢。可见，同学们还应在句型写作上下功夫，写作不是词汇的堆砌。此句话哪怕不要用很花哨的词，也能得到基本分，甚至较好的分数。如“Coming to the campus of Yale, seeing the faces of young and energetic students, feeling the atmosphere of study, I cannot help recalling my great days at Tsinghua University in Beijing 40 years ago”; “The faces of young and energetic students and the atmosphere of study reminded me of my great days …”。这些句子虽然用词比较平，但都可以得到12、13分。
