A cordial welcome to all of you – and particularly toYour Excellency Li Keqiang, premier of the People’sRepublic of China.For me, to stand here is always avery special moment. It has now been 35 years sincethe first time I came to China. And during all theseyears, the World Economic Forum has developed avery special relationship, partnership and friendshipwith this great country and its people – thank you.

李克强总理，各位尊敬的政府首脑和国家元首，各位阁下，亲爱的朋友们和世界经济论坛的会员们，诚挚地欢迎所有人，特别是欢迎您——中华人民共和国总理李克强阁下。对我而言，此时此刻站在这里是一个不寻常的时刻，自从我第一次来到中国已经35年。在若干年间，世界经济论坛成功地和这个伟大的国家建立起难得的伙伴关系和友谊情结。谢谢。

在过去的35年里，世界发生了惊天动地的变化。而中国的领导力长期以来展现了其远见、其决心和其创新力，而所有的这一切是我们要应对世界的挑战所必需的条件。中国也对于改变以及决定今天的世界发生着巨大的影响，而且中国也将会继续推动我们共同的全球未来。

To capitalize on the great opportunities the future provides, and to respond to the economicand social challenges we face today, courageous and comprehensive reforms are needed.These require the collaborative efforts of governments, businesses and other actors in societyto be truly successful.

为了充分利用未来所带来的巨大机遇，为了应对今天我们所面临的经济和社会挑战，我们必须展开富有果断力和全面的改革。这些必要深入的转型进程需要各国政府、企业界以及社会各方齐心协力，只有这样才能真正成功。

This is the reason we are all gathered here in Tianjin, at the eighth Annual Meeting of the NewChampions. Eight is a particularly lucky number in China – and we are fortunate to be able towelcome the largest number of participants ever (more than 2,000, including the media),representing over 90 countries and all stakeholders of society.

这也就是为什么我们今天聚集一堂，来到天津参加第八届新领军者年会。8在中国文化里是一个特别幸运的数字，而且我们很幸运能够享受有史以来规模最大的盛会。在这次盛会上我们有2000多人参加，包括来自媒体的朋友们，而且我们来自90个国家，分布在社会的方方面面。

Mr. Premier, in your opening speech last year you said, and I quote: “China will continue toencourage foreign companies to make investments and do business in China.” Looking at all ofyou gathered in this room, I can only say: Mr Premier, you have been heard! With more than1,000 participants from outside China, this highlights the world’s confidence in China and itscontinued attractiveness for foreign business.

李克强总理阁下，在您去年的开幕致辞里，您提到，让我引用如下：中国将会继续鼓励外国企业在华投资并且发展业务。纵观在这里的每一位朋友，我只能说，总理，大家听到了您的呼声。在这里有来自海外市场的1000多名企业领袖，这强调了我们对您的国家拥有信心，以及中国持续对海外企业拥有吸引力。

We have chosen the theme of this meeting to be “Creating value through innovation”. Theinnovation capacity and entrepreneurial spirit assembled in this room is unlike that of anyother gathering in the world.

我们这次第八届新领军者年会的主题是：推动创新，创造价值。我们在这里聚集一堂的创新能力和企业家精神远远的超出了世界各地其他盛会，因此是非常独特的。

Mr. Premier, last year in your opening speech you quoted another ancient Chinese saying: “Agentleman is always ready to help others attain their goals.” To me, this means we are here asmembers of a community committed truly to improving the state of China, and the world.

总理阁下，去年在您的开幕致辞里也引用了一句中国古话，那就是君子有成人之美。这意味着我们之所以来到这里，是作为社会的一分子，我们以自己的身份来真正的致力于改进中国和改进世界。
